Randomized clinical studies in FDA labeling support Foundayo for chronic weight management in the labeled adult population.
This is a newly approved medicine with less postmarketing experience than older GLP-1 medicines. Rare events, use outside labeled populations, and comparisons with established products remain less certain.
The label describes nonclinical pharmacology and toxicology. Unlike some GLP-1 receptor agonists, orforglipron was not pharmacologically active in the rodent species used for the thyroid findings discussed in the boxed warning; human relevance of the class concern remains uncertain.[1]
